Africa's most respected Business Awards

The annual All Africa Business Leaders Award is set to honour business excellence and leaders who have made a considerable impact on their industry and community.

The All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA™) in partnership with CNBC Africa honour remarkable leadership and salute game changers of business on the continent for their continuing commitment to excellence, developing best practices and innovative strategies.

CNBC Africa is proud to continue the tradition established by the awards that define and celebrate vision, the spirit of achievement and excellence in business leadership in Africa. The AABLA™ distinguish and honour leaders who have contributed and shaped the African economy, and are visionaries behind today’s outstanding businesses.

Winners of the Awards exemplify the best in African leadership. They epitomize the core values of a successful leader, strength, innovation, ingenuity, knowledge and foresight – values that are imperative to carving out powerful business in a Pan-African and global economy.

  1. CEOs from the African listed companies are invited to nominate themselves or respected leaders in business.
  2. Nominations will be received online via the AABLA’s website www.aablawards.com
  3. All documents need to be filled out and supporting documents including the signed rules have to be summited. The AABLA™ team then confirms the CEO’s participation. Online nominations are encouraged with the specific achievements of the nominees included in the submissions.
  4. All information summited according to the criteria of the category, will make the nominee eligible as a candidate.
  5. Documents will be compiled and summited to the business school for research and complete evaluation on the information and financial statements. Dossiers are created and summited to the judging committee in each region.
  6. Participants will be judged by an independent panel of judges, appointed by the head judge.
  7. The judging panel in each region reviews the shortlist, looking at achievements, financial performance and key competitive indicators over the past twelve months, and then determine the finalists for each category in each region.
  8. The finalists for each region are announced at the launch that takes place Live on CNBC Africa.
  9. The finalists must be available on the day for on hand interviews and to present themselves before the judging committee.
  10. The winners for each region will be announced at the gala dinner in their region.
  11. The winners of each category in their respective regions will qualify to compete in the Finale’, this event marks the culmination of the 2017 All Africa Business Leaders Winners.
  12. The finalist has to be present to accept these awards at the respective award ceremonies.

ABN Productions pioneered the annual All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA™) in partnership with CNBC Africa 2011, after Founder and Vice Chairman of the ABN group Mr Rakesh Wahi attended the European business leader’s awards in 2009 and inspired by the recognition of European business leadership, decided to salute remarkable business leaders for their continuing commitment to excellence in Africa. In 2012 the awards grew into 3 regional segments, namely East Africa, Southern Africa and West Africa – with a grand finale to bring all regional winners together and to celebrate an overall victor. The awards ceremony and gala dinner is presented in a half-hour show broadcast across 48 countries in Africa.

Now celebrating it’s 7th year, the awards have become synonymous with recognising the best in business leadership on the African continent and continue to grow in boldness and stature.

In Memoriam 2017

...

As American writer and lawyer Albert Pike once said: “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

In 2017, the AABLA™ will once again remember those business leaders who have lead the way, not just for their organization’s but have moved Africa forward – sadly, these visionaries have passed away between November 2016 and November 2017, leaving behind a legacy.

The “In Memoriam” segment is the most moving part of the AABLA™ Finale but is also the toughest to produce. Business Leaders who would make it into the AABLA™ Finale “In Memoriam” segment, who have been from an African country and have been the Founder, Chairman or CEO of an organization that was notable in a country or multiple territories.

The AABLA™ welcomes submissions to the “In Memoriam” segment of the Finale. Please take a moment to fill out the form and one of the AABLA™ production team will contact you to assist you further with your submission.
